Georgie Louise Edwards was born October 26, 1944 and departed this life Tuesday, November 3, 2020 reaching the age of 76 years. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Dorothy (Daniels) Edwards.

She is survived by: her daughters, Rebecca (Joe) Hardin and Lisa (Jerry) Stinson; son, Douglas (Teresa) Atkinson; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She is also survived by: her brothers, Glen, Carl Lynn, Roy and Jack Edwards; and sisters, Alta Jean Goldsborough and Matilda Sue McGuire; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Oscar and Dorothy Edwards, she was preceded in death by: one son, James Richard Atkinson; daughters, Sharon Lynn Atkinson and Tina Louise Atkinson; brothers, Wayman, Billy, and Bobby Dean Edwards; and sisters, Lois Gregory and Ina Allene Vaughn; one great grandchild and one great-great child.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 6, 2020 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Edwards Chapel Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
