Mrs. Georgia Pauline (Polly) Denney, age 85, daughter of the late Kenneth and Kathleen (Brown) Campbell passed away on April 28th, 2026. Polly was born on July 7th, 1940 in Mill Springs, Kentucky. She attended the public schools of Wayne County and was a graduate of Bowling Green Beauty College.
Polly married her high school sweet heart, Charlie Herman Denney in July of 1960. They celebrated 63 years of marriage, until his passing in December of 2023.
To this union, the couple was blessed with one child; Robin (Freddie) Piercy and three grandchildren; Amber (Jeremy) Rector, Brittany Piercy and Knox (Rachel) Piercy along with five great grandchildren; Campbell Rector and Rowan Rector and Nash, Payne and Palmer Piercy.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by one sister, Patsy (Gary) Hutchison and one sister in-law, Phyllis Bertram.
Polly was a life- long member of Mill Springs Christian church and was very involved in the church’s hospitality services. She was also a dedicated member of the Monticello Homemakers and the Red Hat Society.
Polly worked for the Wayne County school system for 12 years as a secretary.
Polly was a proud owner of Conley Bottom Resort and worked diligently behind the scenes to grow the business into a legacy for families to enjoy for generations.
She will always be remembered for her compassion, strength, hard work, loyalty and deep love for family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 1, 2026, between 11 pm – 1 pm at the Mill Springs Christian Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1 pm at the Mill Springs Christian Church. Services will be followed by a private burial for family only.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Mill Springs Christian Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
