George Vester Stephenson was born December 1, 1928 and departed this life Friday, August 19, 2016 reaching the age of 87 years. He was the son of the late Bal and Mamie (Parmley) Stephenson.

He married Veila "Bea" Parmley and to this union four children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Veila "Bea" Parmley; three daughters, Mary Trejo, Sue Newell, Violet Whitehead; 7 grandchildren, Celeste Stephens, Amber Day, Tyler, Clinton, and Sara Cagle, Aiden Newell, and Samantha Stephenson; and 3 great grandchildren, Kara Coyle, Ian Casada, and Wilder Day and 2 on the way. He is also survived by: two brothers, Cecil and Vancil Stephenson; and two sisters, Gearlene Parmley and Vela Stephenson; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: one daughter, Faye Stephenson; two brothers, Ralph Dexter and Bruce Stephenson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 22, 2016 after 6 pm in the chapel of the funeral home and Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 1 pm at the Parnell Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 2 pm at the Parnell Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Parnell Methodist Church Cemetery.
