George "Jack" Meredith was born January 23, 1932 and departed this life Saturday, December 3, 2011 reaching the age of 79. He was the son of the late Bill and Myrtle (Morris) Meredith.

He is survived by: 1 son, Billy Meredith; 13 step children; 4 grandchildren, Loretta Harness, Billy Henry Meredith, Scottie and Lincoln Massengale; and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by: 1 brother, Odie Meredith; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Bill and Myrtle Meredith, he was preceded in death by: his 1st wife, Stella Mae Meredith; 2nd wife, Ruby Meredith; and sisters, Durley Shelton, Viney Crabtree, Geneva Woody, and Lucy Crabtree.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 11am – 1pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 1 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Anson Perkins officiating. Burial will be in Green Betty Cemetery.
