George Henry Godfrey was born January 29, 1949 and departed this life Saturday, January 12, 2008 reaching the age of 58 years. He was the son of the late John Bradley Godfrey and Mary Elizabeth Morton Godfrey.

He married Mary Edith Godfrey who preceded him in death.

He is survived by: three sons- George (Tonya) Godfrey, Jr. of Louisville, KY, Ricky Ingram and James Henderson Thompson both of Lexington, KY, four daughters- Maria (Jeffrey) Phillips and Robin Smith both of Lexington, KY, Sabrina (Donald, Sr.) Davis and Angela Raglin both of Florida, and 23 grandchildren. He is also survived by: four brothers- James Oscar (Linda) Godfrey of Lexington, KY, Joseph Godfrey of Atlanta, GA, Read and Kenneth Godfrey both of Lexington, KY, and one sister- Betty (Jerome) Hudson of Arkansas; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his wife and his parents he was preceded in death by: three brothers, John Bradley, Jr., William and Timothy Godfrey.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
