George "Junior" Blakely was born November 12, 1947 and departed this life Sunday, February 24, 2019 reaching the age of 71 years. He was the son of the late Walter and Elbie (Scott) Blakely.

He is survived by: his wife, Wanda Blakely; one daughter, Alisha Blakely; step sons, Brandon Godsey (Rachel), Kyle Thomas (Kasey), and Seth Thomas; grandchildren, Josh Howard (Amber), Tyler Howard, Bryson Ringwald, Braxton Cherry, Casey Williams, and Erica Norris; and six grandchildren.  He is also survived by: brothers, Hiley Blakely (Brenda) and Rocky Blakely; sister, Edith Strong; a special uncle, Willie Clyde Scott; and his little dog, Baby Girl; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Walter and Elbie, Blakely, he was preceded in death by: his first wife, Wenda Lou Blakely.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 between 5 pm – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
