Geneva Abbott, age 96, born March 4, 1922 served the people of Wayne County many years as Circuit Court Clerk. She was a life long member of First Baptist Church of Monticello. She passed away July 25, 2018 at her home in Monticello.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Iva Anderson; two brothers, Othal and Reed; two sisters, Audry and JoAnn; and her husband of 67 years, James Alfred Abbott.

She is survived by her brother, Drexell Anderson; her daughter, Reeda Sue; her son, David; grandchildren Dion, James and Heather; and great grandchildren, Sarah, Caleb, Logan, Eli; along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 28, 2018 between 12 pm – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
