Gene Brown was born November 21, 1952 and departed this life Monday, August 08, 2016 reaching the age of 63 years. He was the son of the late Herman "Brownie" and Ruth (Bowlin) Brown.

He is survived by: his children, Trish (Darrell) Hicks, Tina (Fugie) Barnes, Lora (Lewis) Coffey, and Ronald (Trena) Brown; grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashley, and Chris Worley, Dougie, Moe, Tisha, and Sarah Raines, Bubba and Noodles Barnes, Zach and Shawna Brown; and six great grandkids. He is also survived by his sisters, Ann Ruth Cooper, Vickie Gregory, Becky Feltner, Lottie Crabtree, Kathy Crabtree, and Penny Aldridge; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Herman and Ruth Brown, he was preceded in death by: his first wife, Anna (Foster) Brown; his second wife, Myrna (Sowell) Brown; step grand-daughter, Brooke; one brother, Steve Brown; and two sisters, Brenda Culbertson and Jan Wethington.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
