GARY DALE SUMPTER was born June 15, 1954 and departed this life Thursday, November 29, 2007 reaching the age of 53 years. He was the son of the late George Sumpter and Wagie Miller Sumpter.

He is survived by: his wife, Sherry Sumpter of Monticello, KY; one daughter, Ashley Sumpter of Monticello, KY; two sons, Gary "Ryan" Sumpter of Paducah, KY and Benjamin Scott Sumpter of Monticello, KY; and one step son, Christian Eugene Josey of Florida. He is also survived by: two brothers, Donald Sumpter of Tallahassee, FL and Billy Sumpter of Newport News, VA; and three sisters, Peggy Duggins of Leesburg, FL, Frona Mae Atkinson of Jamestown, TN, and Carol Ann Shaw of Rantoul, IL; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, Bobby and Leroy Sumpter.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Service: Sunday, December 2nd at 2 pm
Interment: Elk Spring Cemetery
