Gary Russell was born March 25, 1940 and departed this life Monday, October 17, 2016 reaching the age of 76 years. He was the son of the late John Henry Russell and Ruby (Dean) Russell Prince.

He is survived by: his wife, Lula Ann "LuAnn" Roberts Russell of Monticello, KY; three sons, Wesley Russell of Monticello, KY, Darren Russell of Louisville, KY, and Marty Jackson of Monticello, KY; six grandchildren, Taylar Richard, Logan Russell, Ashton Russell, and Shelby Russell all of Louisville, KY, Shawn Jackson and Sidney Jackson both of Monticello, KY. He is also survived by: three sisters, Linda Roberts, Phyllis Southwood, and Debbie Dishman all of Monticello, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, Logan Russell, Billy Bruce Russell, and Lannie Prince; and one sister, Kay Winfrey.

Gary worked for Anderson Wood Products for over 36 years. He enjoyed bluegrass music, gardening, and hunting ginseng. He loved all sports, but UK basketball was #1!

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 21, 2016 after 10 am at the Parnell Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2 pm at the Parnell Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Parnell Baptist Church Cemetery.
