Gail Lynn Sams was born on October 2, 1956, and departed this life on Monday, January 26, 2026, reaching the age of 69 years. She was the daughter of (the late) Archie and Nancy Irene (Bush) Settles.

She is survived by her son, Tommy & Tommi Spencer; daughter, Tiffini & Brian Smith; stepson, Ernest (Spank) & Paula Sams, III; eight grandchildren, Whitney Spencer & Devin Dowell, Natalie & Dob Lowe, Thomas Spencer ll, Dylan Caves, Collin Spencer, Colson Spencer, Jonathan Sams, Zachary Sams; two great-grandchildren, Dawson Caves, Raelynn Dowell, with two on the way; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Sams, Jr.; three brothers, Clifford, Jimmy, and Ronnie Settles; two sisters, Diane Martin and Veda Settles; and one grandchild, Devin Caves.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at Worthville Baptist Church on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 1 PM.
