Freeman "Don" Parmley was born October 19, 1933 and departed this life Saturday, July 30, 2016 reaching the age of 82 years. He was the son of the late Claude Parmley and Edna (Spradlin) Acrey.

He married Betty Jean Abbott and to this union one son was born.

He is survived by: his wife. Betty Parmley; his son, David Parmley; siblings, Marie Stephenson, Bonnie Abbott, Forrest Russell, Linda Russell, Steve Russell, Cindy Roysdon, and Jack Russell; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, James and Mitchell Parmley; and one sister, Louise San Miguel.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 after 5 pm EDT in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will also be Tuesday at 7 pm EDT in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date at Elk Spring Cemetery.

The family has requested that expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Kentucky Alzheimer's Association.
