Ford Thomas Davis was born September 20, 1936 in Garrard County Kentucky and departed this life Tuesday, August 24, 2021. He was the son of the late Hardin and Lou Ella (Rhodes) Davis.

After realizing he didn't want to continue farm work, he moved to Lexington to work for builder Morris Levy. He then continued construction work in different parts of the state before he went to work for Savings Building Supply, on Southland Drive, where he was the lead carpenter.  In 1995 he moved to the Lake Cumberland area, in Monticello, where he enjoyed retirement but continued his carpentry skills while also enjoying the outdoors.

He is survived by: his wife, Doris Dotson Davis; one son, Glenn Davis; three daughters, Bonnie Eckler (Bill), Sheree Powell (Rex), Ann Esters (Tracey); grandchildren, Austin Davis, Chelsea Duff, Cody Duff, Jordan Jackson, Landon Powell, Cameron Esters, Caleigh Esters, Carson Esters, Evan Eckler, and Emily Eckler; and great grandchildren, Khloe Davis, Max Davis, Kayson Duff, Huxley Duff, Ellie Eckler, and Asher Eckler, several nieces and nephews; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Hardin and Lou Ella Davis, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, Denny Davis, Talt Davis, and Allie Davis; and one sister, Minnie Richardson.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 28, 2021 between 11 am –  1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
