Evalee Castle, age 94, of Monticello, widow of Pat Castle, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Wayne County Hospital.


Survivors include 4 daughters, Patricia Smith, Joan Kindrick, Peggy Morrissey, and Joy Fairchild (Marty); 1 daughter-in-law, Ruth Castle; 13 grandchildren, Julie Gossage (Obie, Jr.), Jennifer Shelton (Forrest), Vanessa Brummett (Leslie), Elizabeth Kennedy (Bobby), Patrick Morrissey, Susan Davies (Peter), Elizabeth Frank, Amber Fairchild, Mark Fairchild, Samuel Fairchild, Garvel Kindrick, Jr. (Kim), Lori Dyer (Jimmy), and Tamara Williams (Ronnie); 26 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Walter and Lissie Barnett Richardson; 2 sons, William Patrick "Bill" Castle and Richard Allen Castle; 2 sisters, Lydie Roberts and May Koontz; 9 brothers, Lyle, Milford, Paul, James, Rolf, Oren, Robert, Ervin, and John R. Richardson; and 1 grandchild, Michael Morrissey.

She was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 5-8 pm in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 1 pm in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
