Eva Gregory Shearer 96, of Monticello and Lexington, widow of Carl C. Shearer, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018. She was born December 5, 1921 in Parmleysville, KY to the late Edgar and Ethel Bell Gregory. A teacher, her career spanned some 43 years from one room schools to the consolidated 6 ^th grade.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Teresa), of Lexington, KY and Gregory (Peggy), of Chicago, Ill; four grandchildren, Chris (Holley), Carl, Katie (Mark) Cotter, and Morgan (Ben) Grimshaw; two great-grandchildren, Gray and Ellery Shearer; and seven of her eleven nieces and nephews and their twelve of fourteen children.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Monday, October 8, 2018 at Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home, of Monticello, KY, burial will follow in Elk Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm, Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the funeral home.
