Obituary
Eugene Jones was born November 2, 1933 and departed this life Monday, February 1, 2016 reaching the age of 82 years. He was the son of the late Dewey and Mary Elizabeth (Miller) Jones.
He is survived by: his wife, Jacqueline (Taylor) Jones; four sons, Jerry VanVoorst, Jay VanVoorst, Dewey Eugene Jones, and Eric Jones; three daughters, Rita Moles, Rebecca Astemborski, and Janette Philpot; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by: one brother, Robie Jones; and one sister, Juanita Atkins; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Dewey and Mary Jones, he was preceded in death by: one son, James VanVoorst; one daughter, Ronda Jones; one grandchild; four brothers, Orville, Donald, Doyle and Duffield Jones; and one sister, Christine Young.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 4, 2016 after 5pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5, 2016 at 10am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Sherrod Dobbs Cemetery.
