Estel F. Poe age 82 of Plainfield passed away on March 24, 2013 in his residence. He was born on May 5, 1930 in Monticello, Kentucky to Charles Fred and Lulu Upchurch Poe. He married the former Virginia York; she survives. He was an U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Estel was an inspector for GM Truck and Bus for 34 years retiring in 1991. After retirement his love and passion was taking care of his numerous animals and horses at his small farm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday March 28, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Hall-Baker Funeral Home Plainfield. Calling will be held on Wednesday March 27, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Graveside services will be held On Friday March 29, 2013 at 3 P.M. in the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky. Survivors include his wife Virginia Poe. Daughter: Brenda Powell-Lozano and Husband Jorge Lozano. Step Children Kathy Choate and Ron Clark. Sister: Doris Norris and husband Bill. Grandchildren: Estel Powell and Justin Powell. Great-grandchildren: Caden and Ethan Powell. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Glen, Eldred, and Haskell Poe. Sisters: Deva Poe and Anna Poe.
