ERNEST R. SMITH was born January 31st, 1940 and departed this life Friday, December 26th, 2008 reaching the age of 68 years. He was the son of the late Zelmer Smith and Mary Frances Young Smith.

He is survived by 4 brothers-Elmer Smith of Monticello, KY, Albert Lowe of Nancy, KY, Bill Lowe of Decatur, IL and Ray Smith of Russell Springs, KY and 2 sisters-Oma Walker of Monticello, KY and Darlene Mounce of Somerset, KY, along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Zelmer and Mary Frances Smith and one sister-Opal Turner.

He was a loving brother, uncle, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.


Visitation: The family will receive friends after 5 PM on Sunday, December 28th, 2008 in the chapel.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Monday, December 29th, 2008 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Anson Perkins and Bro. Danny Burks officiating.
Interment: Burial will be in the New Sandusky Chapel Cemetery.
