Elvin Dodson,Jr. age 86, of Cave Springs Road, Albany, KY., formerly of Monticello, KY., passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 at his home. He was a retired mechanic and musician.

He is survived by: three sons- Gregory (Jamie) York, Gerald (Evana) and John (Irene)Dodson; four daughters- Linda (Mike) Hammond, Janet Coffey, Judy (Lindell) Gregory, and Joyce (Mike) Crain; two step-children - Mona (Calvin) Walters and Teresa Holloway; his former wife- Zella Dodson; one sister- Leriene Lair, and two brothers- Rev. Jackie and Rev. Billy Dodson; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents- Mahala and Ernest Dodson, long-time companion and Greg's mother- Ethel Mae York; a son- Randy Lee Dodson, three step-children- Lynn York, Andy York, and Penny Hurst; a brother- Paul Dodson, and a granddaughter- Regina Lou Hammond.

The family will receive friends after 5 pm EDT on Monday, August 29, 2016 in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10 am EDT in the chapel of the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in Monticello, KY. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
