Obituary
Elsie Lee Hicks was born March 7th, 1926 in Wayne County, Kentucky and departed this life Monday, January 27th, 2003, reaching the age of 76 years. She was the daughter of Marvin Hicks and Lora Catron Hicks.
She is survived by a special niece she raised as a daughter-Wanda Faye Young and her husband Van Young. She is survived by five "grandchildren"-Derrick, Kim, Marcus, Teresa and Kateasha and one beloved great "grandchild"-Makayla Young.
She is also survived by two brothers-Waylin Hicks of Georgetown, KY and Donald Hicks of Monticello, KY and two sisters-Bonnie Taylor and Betty Padgett, both of Monticello, KY, along with several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers-Lyle and Wilburn Hicks and one sister-Norma Dean Dishman.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation: The family will receive friends after 5 PM on Thursday, January 30th in the chapel.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Friday, January 31st at 1 PM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Soard officiating.
Interment: Burial will follow in the Gap Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
