Elmer Lee Smith was born April 18, 1936 and departed this life Monday, November 27, 2017 reaching the age of 81 years. He was the son of the late Zelmer and Mary (Young) Smith.

He is survived by: his wife, Ella Mae Matthews-Smith; one step son, Michael Matthews; and one step daughter, Ruth (Sam) Barnes. He is also survived by: three brothers, Albert Lowe, Bill Smith and Ray Smith; and one sister, Darlene Mounce; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents Zelmer and Mary Smith, he was preceded in death by: one brother, Ernest Ray Smith; and two sisters, Opal Turner and Ona Mae Walker.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 between 5 pm - 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the New Sandusky Cemetery.
