Elisha John Riddle Turpin

Elisha John Riddle Turpin was born February 23, 1986, and passed away suddenly on October 13, 2026, reaching the age of 40 years. He was the son of John Turpin and the late Carlene (Turner) Turpin.

Elisha gave his life to the Lord at an early age. He was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his father, John Turpin (Anita); one sister, Jackie Reed; his maternal grandmother, Lois Turner; two nieces, Cheyenne Nevels and Rachel Stieber; one nephew, Ezra Nevels; two great nephews, Colt Nevels and Theodore Steiber, and another on the way; along with a host of family and friends who mourn him passing.

In addition to his mother, Carlene Turpin, he was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Elisha William Turpin and Ruth Alexander Turpin; and his maternal grandfather, Jack Turner.

Elisha was a very loving, energetic, rambunctious child who grew into a loving, energetic young man. He wanted to live a full life of adventure as most youths do. Throughout Elisha’s journey, he made many acquaintances and friends. Those who he has now left behind, have only memories to carry on. Every person that knew him, no matter where or how they knew him, was changed in their own way. Hopefully his life will have impacted them all in a positive way somehow.

Although, we as his family and friends will carry a hole inside of us, we will greatly miss him. We have been greatly privileged to have him in our lives for this short amount of time. We will treasure the moments that we got to spend with him, the smiles, the hugs, and the laughter that we got to share during his life with us. He will always be remembered and loved.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2026, between 12:30 pm – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Blevins Cemetery.
