Edwin C. "Jake" Blevins was born June 19th, 2002 in Wayne County, KY and departed this life Wednesday, November 6th, 2002, reaching the age of 72 years. He was the son of Will Blevins and Victoria Miller Blevins.

He was united in marriage to Mildred Kitts Blevins and to this union two children were born.

He is survived by his wife Mildred, one daughter-Sandra Blevins Steer of Racine, WI and one son-Mark Blevins of Sumpter, S.C. He is survived by four grandchildren-Christie, Caryn, Robert and Sierra and one great grandchild-Jasmine. He is also survived by one sister-Bonnie Smith of Parnell, KY and five brothers-Earl Blevins of Owensville, OH, Coy Blevins of Cincinnati, OH, Fount Blevins of Monticello, KY, William and Allen Blevins of Parnell, KY, along with several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He served his country faithfully during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.


Visitation: The family will receive friends after 5 PM on Friday, November 8th, 2002 in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: The funeral service will be Saturday, November 9th, 2002 at 10 AM in the chapel of the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Vickous officiating.
Interment: Burial will follow in the Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, KY.
