Edward Bybee, Jr, a lifetime resident of Wayne Co. Kentucky passed away on November 20, 2016 at Wayne County Hospital at the age of seventy-six years.

Junior was born on March 25, 1940 in Coopersville, KY and was raised with his family in the community of Barrier, KY. He was the son of Edward Bybee, Sr and Lola Hughes Bybee who precedes him in death along with three brothers Gail, James Winfrey and Lonnie Kay Bybee, one son-in-law, Ivan Dale Tuggle…. two nephews, Ricky Meredith and Charlie Bybee. He is survived by his sisters… Betty Jones of Monticello Ky., Barbara Norris and Shirley Dunagan of Celina, TN., and one brother, Tim Bybee of Monticello, KY. He was united in marriage to Christine Dishman on December 7, 1956 and to this union four children were born, Linda Jean Tuggle, Patricia Ann & Philip Burton, Donna Gay & Raymond Campbell, and Douglas Lynn & Kim Bybee. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren and four great grand-children. He also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.

Junior began at an early age of loving to drive and handle trucks. He made a career of driving tractor trailers over the road and retired after many years of long distance driving. He acquired the CB handle of "ALLEYCAT" that was widely used by all that knew him. His physical and mental health continued to deteriorate and forced him to give up his love of driving on the open road. But along his journey he developed many special trucking acquaintances and friends.



Junior was a fun-loving, common man that loved the simple pleasures of life. He loved to eat and sleep…. he loved to play the guitar and sing… he enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and boating. He loved being out in the open outdoors…. and enjoyed spending time with his furry little companions.

Junior loved his family and Church. He was a member of the Green Hill Baptist Church and often served as song leader for the choir. Junior accepted Christ as a young boy and further deepened his relationship with Christ in his last final days. He remained an active member in the fellowship of God up until his death.

Junior became closer to his children in the last few years of his life. It was a full circle that he returned to his loving family. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and truck driving brothers. In our closing, if dad where here… he would call out "KEEP ON TRUCKING…OVER and OUT ALLEYCAT"!

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 25, 2016 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
