Edward Burnette was born June 18, 1962 in Monticello, KY. He departed this life on Friday, September 23, 2022 reaching the age of 60 years. He was the son of Nellie Louise (Slaven) Burnette and the late Edgar "Carl" Burnette.

He married Peggy (Jones) Burnette on April 25, 1981 and to this union 3 children were born.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by: his wife of 41 years, Peggy Burnette; 3 children, Jeremy (Rebecca) Burnette, Melissa Piercy and Nicole Burnette (Brian Scott); Jason Foster, whom he regarded as a son; 6 grandchildren, Ethan & Desirae Burnette; Madelynne Piercy, Nathaniel, Noah and Allison Grace Scott; 2 brothers, Glenn (Phyllis) Burnett and Ronnie Lee Burnette; 3 sisters, Jean (Toby) Gregory, Carlene (Gary) Slaven and Rhonda Renee (Rabion) Decker; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

Edward was a member of the Monticello Baptist Tabernacle.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Obie Dobbs Cemetery.
