Edna Christine (Harris) Hughes, age 87, passed away on October 3 ^rd , 2018.  She was born October 12 ^th , 1930, the daughter of the Wayne Frazier Harris and Ollie Cecil (Russell) Harris of the Parnell Community of Wayne County, KY.  In 1947, she married Haskell Hughes of the Murl Community, who preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; an infant son, Roger Lee Hughes; 4 sisters:  Lucille Smith, Mazie Munsey, Ruby Turner, and Bernice McClellan; and 2 brothers:  Clarence Harris and Jim Harris. She is survived by two sons:  Danny (Betty) Hughes and Jackie Hughes of the Murl Community; 1 brother: Junior Harris of Monticello; and 1 sister:  Velma (Bobby) Turner of Monticello.  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, as well as many friends and relatives who mourn her passing.

She was a home-maker and helped farm the land where she lived in the Murl Community of Wayne County, KY.  In 1954, she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined the Old Charity United Baptist Church, she remained a member until her death.

A grave-side service will be held Monday, October 8th at 2 pm at the Old Charity Cemetery, where her remains will be laid to rest, to await the Resurrection Morning.
