Obituary
EDNA MAE BROWN BATES was born March 22, 1917 and departed this life October 16, 2003 reaching the age of 86. She was the daughter of Robert Clarence Brown and Alta East Brown.
She was united in marriage to Clarence "Fats" Bates and to this union 2 children were born.
She is survived by one daughter – Cecile Townes of Hazard, KY, two grandchildren – Lisa Ann Townes Davidson and Phillip Chadwick Townes, and three special little friends – Dylan, Alexa and Emily, along with a host of family and friends who will mourn her passing..
She was preceded in death by her husband – Clarence, one daughter – Belinda, and her parents – Robert and Alta Brown.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation: The family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 pm, October 17 in the funeral home chapel.
Funeral Service: Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 18 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Mill Springs Christian Church Cemetery
