Obituary
Edith Smith Roden was born February 16, 1931 and departed this life Thursday, October 25, 2012 reaching the age of 81. She was the daughter of the late James and Myrtle (Sizemore) Smith.
She was united in marriage to Maurice Gene Roden and to this union 2 children were born.
She is survived by: 2 daughters, Beverly Roden of Bradenton, FL and Belinda Chaffins of Tipp City, OH; 1 grandchild, Carry Lynn Chaffins; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, James and Myrtle Smith, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Maurice Roden; and siblings, Ethel Whitaker, Shelly Smith, Oakley Smith, Sophie Barker, Marie Griffitts, McKinley Smith, and Ed Smith.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 5 – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Hollars officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
