Earlene Smith was born January 17, 1951 and departed this life Friday, August 5, 2022 reaching the age of 71 years. She was the daughter of the late Ottie and Myrtle Lee (Perkins) Herron.

She is survived by: her husband, Sammie L. Smith; one son, John Calvin (JC) Smith; two daughters, Amanda Elizabeth Lindsey and Heather Lee Smith; and 8 grandchildren, Jessica, Ashley, Erica, Brandon, Sara Lee, Starr, Jasmine and Katelyn; 7 great grandchildren, Emma Lindsey, Annaliese Lee, Abhileen & Kamila Quintana, and Paisley, Hunter & Camden McCutchen. She is also survived by: two brothers, Donald "Butch" Herron and Johnny Wayne Smith; and one sister, Susie Stinson; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents Ottie and Myrtle Herron, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Wilma Kessler, Sherry Davisson, Linda Blaha, and Carol Simpson.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Parnell Baptist Church Cemetery.
