Heaven received another angel into their arms last night. Earl Vinson Locklear gained his angel wings at 12:45 am on Sunday, May 14, 2017

Earl always said that the Lord had blessed him richly throughout his life, and even though it was cut short with cancer, he said he couldn't be greedy and expect any more.

Earl was born on July 31st, 1955 to Nathaniel Locklear and Rosa Lee Davis in Scotland County, North Carolina. The family moved to Detroit, Michigan when Earl was a boy where he later met his first wife, Linda L. Huckleberry. Earl and Linda were married on June 28th, 1975 and were married till her death on June 23, 2003.

Earl married Linda L. Johnson on October 17, 2003 and they were able to enjoy almost 14 years of marriage until his passing.

Earl spend 30 years working for Chrysler till his retirement in 2004. He was a member of UAW 1166. Anyone that knew Earl knew that he loved his family and loved the Tigers and the Lions.

Earl is survived by 4 sons: Greg (Angie) Locklear, Aaron (Janet) Locklear, Josh Locklear and Kevin Johnson; daughters, Angela (Patrick) McFeeley, Sherry Reynolds and Mary (Chris) Catron; brothers, Herman (Patty) Locklear, Larry Locklear, Nathan (Robin) Locklear and sister, Carrie DeBlock; 19 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan Locklear; brother, Richard Locklear; his 1st wife, Linda Huckleberry Locklear and daughter, Roseanna Locklear.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 1 pm at the Old Bethel Church Cemetery. Burial will be in the Old Bethel Church Cemetery.
