Earl Doss was born August 14, 1931 and departed this life Wednesday, June 27, 2012 reaching the age of 80. He was the son of the late Edwin and Amelia (Thornton) Doss.

He was united in marriage to Helen Louise Adkins and to this union 3 children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Louise Doss of Monticello, KY; 2 sons, Earl Ray "Bub" and Tommy Doss both of Monticello, KY; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Lynn, Ashley Jo, Tommy Lee, and Corey Doss; 3 step grandchildren, Haley Neeley, Stevie and Lonnie Gregory ; 1 great grandchild, Cadence Grace Branscum; and 5 step great-grandchildren, Trentin Neeley, Jonathan, Shayla, Andrew, and Caleb Gregory; extended grandchildren, Alisha Brake, Scott & Tyler Roberts, Samantha, Monica, and Ann Keeton . He is also survived by: 1 sister, Ethel Fairchild of Lewisville, IN; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 1 son, Michael Joe Doss; 2 brothers, Paul and Howard Doss; and 3 sisters, Ina Boatman, Dorothy Elliott, and Anna Ruth Doss.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 5 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10 am at the Alexander Cemetery with Bro. Byron Creech officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by DAV Chapter 105.
