Obituary

Earl Junior Dishman was born November 23, 1924 and departed this life Monday, November 27, 2017 reaching the age of 93 years. He was the son of the late Thomas Edison and Mae (Dugger) Dishman.

He married Betty Rigney and to this union four children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Betty Dishman; three children, Gary Dishman, Barbara Gossett and James "Jim" Dishman; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Thomas and Mae Dishman, he was preceded in death by: one daughter, Connie Troxell; two brothers, Ellis Dishman and Ernest Dishman; and one sister, Jean Colter.

Earl served his country faithfully in the Navy during World War II. He was employed for 41 years (1948-1989) at the Monticello Electric Plant Board where he retired in May 1989.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30, 2017 between 1pm - 2pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 2pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by our local DAV Chapter 105.
