May 29, 1952 – July 18, 2024
Dwight Daniel Briscoe, age 72 of Somerset, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2024. Dwight was born on May 29, 1952, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of the late Elbridge and Mary French Briscoe. He graduated from Talawanda High School in 1970. Dwight worked at French's Grocery with his grandparents until their passing. As owner, he managed the store until deciding it was time for a change. He was employed and worked at Walmart for a total of 35 years. He truly loved his extended Walmart family.
Dwight married Anita Dolen on February 7, 1982 in Mill Springs, Kentucky.
He is survived by his wife, Anita; his brothers, Timothy Briscoe, of Fairfield, Ohio; Lee Briscoe of Louisville, Kentucky; and his sister, Tammy (Bennett) Lewis of Somerville, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Mildred (Haynes) Dolen; brother-in-law, Dana (Becky) Dolen; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Johnny) Gehring all residing in Monticello, KY and Quenna Collins of Nicholasville, KY, along with his nieces and nephews.
Dwight was preceded in death by both parents, Elbridge and Mary Briscoe; his brother Tom; his grandparents, Nell and Conrad French, Dewey and Abbie Briscoe; nephew, Doug Briscoe; father-in-law, Kenneth Dolen; brothers-in-law, Lowell Dolen and John Collins.
Dwight was an avid car lover, enjoyed the Smoky Mountains, traveling out west and riding go-carts with his nephews.
He was a loving husband and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 20, 2024, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery, Monticello, KY.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Central Baptist Oncology and Hematology staff of Lexington, Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, and Pastor Kevin Bullock.
