Dorothy Sexton was born January 10, 1940 and departed this life Thursday, May 02, 2013 reaching the age of 73. She was the daughter of the late Orville B. and Audie (Koger) Hancock.

On April 4, 1960 she was united in marriage to Waymar Sexton, Jr. and to this union 3 children were born.

She is survived by: her husband, Junior Sexton; 1 daughter, Vicki Burnett; 1 son, Allen Sexton; 2 granddaughters, Terra Albertson and Caitlyn Mounce; and 2 great grandchildren, Chloe and Carson Albertson. She is also survived by: 1 sister, Jimmie Hancock; and half-brother, Ray Hancock; and along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Orville and Audie Hancock, she was preceded in death by: and infant daughter, Kathy Ann Sexton who passed away at birth; 2 brothers, James Ralph and Arvil Eugene Hancock; and 1 sister, Delta Kahn.

Dorothy was a good Christian woman and worked hard for family and home. She was saved as young lady and joined the Immanuel Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 11am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 3 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home with Bro. Corb Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.
