Doris Erma York was born January 20, 1943, and departed this life Saturday, March 7, 2026, reaching the age of 83 years. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Mary (Zimmerman) Norfleet.

She married her childhood sweetheart, Leonard Phillip York on May 12, 1962.

She is survived by: one brother, Oscar Norfleet (Susie); and two sisters, Marlene McIntyre and Brenda Shrader (Ray); several nieces and nephews; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Phillip York; and two brothers, Jimmy Ray Norfleet and Harold Norfleet.

Doris will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2026, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 10 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to:  Monticello Masonic Lodge #431 Scholarship Fund.
