Doris Evelyn Kidd Ferrell was born August 10, 1935 and departed this life Sunday, December 20, 2020 reaching the age of 85 years. She was the daughter of the late John Marion Kidd and Elizabeth Davis Kidd Dishman.

She married Dennis Ferrell on August 4, 1951 and to this union five children were born.

She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Ferrell, Rita Turberville, Donnie Ferrell, Steve Ferrell and Danny Ferrell; one sister, Helen McAdoo; 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Dennis Ferrell; sisters, Grace Kidd (infant), Gladys Whitcher and Thelma Blake; and brothers, Dennis Kidd, Gale Kidd, and David Kidd.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance.
