Doris Brown was born May 13, 1936 and departed this life Wednesday, June 23, 2021 reaching the age of 85 years. She was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Mildred Louise (Mills) Decker.

She is survived by: ­ her husband, Robert Brown; 1 son, Robert "Bob" (April) Brown Jr.; 1 daughter, Teresa (John) Borton; 2 sisters, Ruth Ard of Panama City, Florida and Sandy Decker of Monticello; 3 grandchildren, Joshua (Amy) Borton, Rebecca (Mike) Barak and Bethany Borton (fiancé, Brian White); 2 great-grandchildren, Eli and Gideon Borton; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: 3 brothers, Fred Decker, Ed Decker and Charles (Sandra) Decker; and 2 sisters, Norma Clanton and Betty Cox.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 2, 2021 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 3 at 12 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
