Dorcas (Walker) Catron, age 79, widow of the late Phillip Catron passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at the Wayne County Hospital.

She was born in Flat Lick (Knox County) Kentucky on June 15, 1941 to the late James and Sally (Bingham) Walker. She was an only child.

She was married to the Love of her life on August 15, 1963 and was blessed with 54 wonderful years before Phillip passed away in June 2018.  They never had any children of their own but learned to love hundreds thru teaching for over 29 years in the Wayne County School System before retiring.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Elsie Denny and a nephew, Kevin Ray Denney, a great niece, Emma-Rae Denney, and a great-great niece, Lily Claire Denney, along with some very special cousins and two special lifelong friends in Knox County, Ms. Pauline Hammons and Mr. Bige Warren and a host of friends who will miss her greatly.

She was a lifelong member of the Steubenville Baptist Church and loved all her church family dearly.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 7, 2020 between 10 am – 12 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  A private funeral service will be held with Bro. Seth Denny officiating at a later time. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Steubenville Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
