June 13, 1949 – June 14, 2025
Donald (Donnie) Ray Hunton was born on June 13th, 1949, in Bowling Green, Kentucky to his loving late parents John & Mabel (Arnett) Hunton. Donnie departed from his earthly body one day after his 76th birthday on June 14th, 2025, at Hospice of Lake Cumberland surrounded by loved ones. To be rejoined with his late daughters Denise and Susan in heaven.
Donnie spent 47 wonderful years with his beautiful wife Lela (Ballou) Hunton. He was a God-fearing man who would pray with you or for you at any time. He was the pastor of old way missionary Baptist in Franklin Kentucky for many years. Besides being a pastor Donnie's greatest joys in life was his 8 amazing children and his many grandchildren. He was a contractor by trade and took great pride in his work. He worked alongside his best friend and only brother Terry Hunton for most of his life. Donnie was always the first to lend a hand to others. He would bless the food before every meal and maybe sometimes even a little too long. He loved cracking jokes, watching westerns, catching fish, attending church, and smoking cigarettes.
Donnie was the father of Tracy (Tom) Jenkins, Lana (Brian) Krutsinger, Susan Leann Hunton, Johnathon Tuck (April) Hunton, Denise Lene' Hunton Dismuke, Christopher Loy, Nicholas (Amber) Loy, and Codey Loy. A daughter in love Deshea Evans. Donnie was the grandfather of Asa Dismuke, Caleb (Savannah) Hunton, Kyle Hunton, Braddix Hunton, Lexie Foster, Seth Foster, Blake Yancy, Jordan Mueller, Alexis Mueller, McKenzie Krutsinger, Briana Krutsinger, and Hunter Loy. Donnie was the great grandfather of Colton Hunton. He was the brother to 5 siblings Terry (Glenna) Hunton, Teresa (Jerry) Hall, Pamela Bray, Sherry (Smirk) Sears, and Regenia (Tracey) Dykes. Donnie was the uncle to Joyce Stinson and Patty Lyons who helped care for him in his final days along with a host of other precious nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel.
