Donald William Parmley was born February 3, 1940, and departed this life Sunday, June 15, 2025, reaching the age of 85 years. He was the son of the late Miles Monroe "Bill" Parmley and Martha Elizabeth (Humble) Parmley.
He is survived by: his wife, Teresa Parmley; two sisters, Lela Daniels and Thelma "Jean" Britt; sister-in-law, Mary Parmley; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Barbara Flora; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Bill and Martha Parmley, he was preceded in death by: siblings, Robert (Velma Jean) Parmley, Johnnie Parmley, James (Eva) Parmley, Mary (Harold) Smith, Glen (Hazel) Parmley, Eva Burnett (Dorcie) Whitt; Earl Parmley, Mattie Parmley, Olen Parmley, Betty Parmley, Elmer Parmley, and Roy Parmley; and brothers-in-law, James "Herbie" Daniels and Denzil Hart.
He worked for Cumberland Wood & Chair for 20 years. He loved his dogs, enjoyed gardening and prospecting for oil. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, 2025, between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11 am at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
