IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Ray
Mcclane, Ii
August 30, 1972 – March 23, 2025
Donald Ray McClane II, age 52, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, surrounded by family and his faithful dog.
Don Ray was born on August 30, 1972, in Indianapolis, Indiana, son of Dottie McClane and the late Donald Ray McClane.
Don Ray accepted Christ at Mountain View Baptist Church Camp. He was baptized and joined Parnell Baptist Church. His faith was unwavering.
As a young boy, Don Ray had an endless curiosity for how things worked. From a young age, he could take apart toys and put them back together. It seemed naturally effortless for him.
Inspired and fostered by his dad, Don's knowledge and skill of mechanics was truly a unique gift. His passion and talent eventually lead to the start of McClane Motorsports where he was known for his abilities and expertise. He received so much pleasure from helping his friends and the community with anything with a motor. If something could run smoother, go faster, or was in need of repair, he was the guy to make that happen. He was the go-to expert for anyone in need of a little more horsepower.
Don Ray is survived by his mother, Dottie McClane, his siblings Stacie McClane, Darren McClane, Ray Creech, and Sylvia Dobbs. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Tobi McClane, Alexandria Cotton, Hunter Mickelson, Jay Creech, Ritchie Rednour II, and Jessica Rednour. He was proceeded in death by his father, Donald Ray McClane.
Don Ray had a passion for life and a contagious smile. He was deeply loved by his family and friends. He had a big heart and would give you the shirt off his back. His spirit is in a better place and he will be dearly missed. His memory will live with us forever. His hands may be still, but his engines roar on.
Some of Don Ray's greatest joys were the laughter and smile of friends and family. He loved to lend a helping hand. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please reach out to someone you love or someone in need and share his spirit of love and generosity.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, between 3:30 pm – 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 5 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
