Donald Conley Lair, age 66, was born November 9, 1948 and passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Wayne County Hospital. He was the son of the late Lee Bradford Lair and Louisa Conley Lair.
Don is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda (Brown) Lair. He is also survived by two children: Jonathan Conley (Aria) Lair and Tina Jo (Kenny) Tichenor, two brothers: Charles Lee (Faye) Lair and Jack Forest (Betty) Lair, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Betty Jo Groce, one brother: Marvin Bradford "Sonny" Lair, and two infant brothers: David Hall Lair and Stephen Lair.
He served his country as an E-5 Sergeant in the Army in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Wayne County DAV Chapter 105 for 15 years and acted as the Commander of the Chapter for several years. Don was a member of the Roger's Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon until his health declined.
Don will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 11, 2015 after 6pm in the chapel of the funeral home and Monday, January 12th from 7am – 1pm at Roger's Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 at 1pm at the Roger's Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Roger's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by DAV Chapter 105.
