DONALD GEHRING was born March 6, 1929 and departed this life May 8, 2007 reaching the age of 78 years. He was the son of the late Homer and Sally (Richards) Gehring.

He married Mary Elizabeth Elam on December 24, 1954 and to this union four children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Mary Gehring of Monticello, KY; two sons, Thom (Kerry) Gehring of Austin, TX and Johnny (Barbara) Gehring of Monticello, KY; one daughter, Melinda Keith of Monticello, KY; four grandchildren, Chad, Tye, Austin Gehring and Megan Bertram; and one great grandchild, Peyton Blake Gehring.

He is also survived by four brothers, Owen "Dickie" Gehring of Monticello, KY, Martin Gehring of IN, Billy Gehring of Monticello, KY, and Joe Gehring of IN; and one sister, Sherry Threet of Monticello, KY; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Homer and Sally Gehring; and one sister, Nancy Corder.

He served his church with great love and devotion as a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent, Building Committee and Deacon. He served in the National Guard from 1947 to 1950 and in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954. He completed his G.E.D. in 1996.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
