Donald (Duke) Logan Carrender born on Morris Hill in Monticello, Kentucky on July 24, 1938. He departed this life on July 26th, 2014 at the Wayne County Hospital. He lived to be 76 years old.

He was united in marriage to Judith Leigh Ott, on August 15, 1959, in French Creek, New York; she survives.

Leaving behind children, Debra (Bob) Bristow, Troy (Sandy) Carrender and Michael Carrender. Seven grandchildren, Ashleigh Smith, Kristin (Daniel) Upchurch, Aaron Carrender, Logan Carrender, Mikayla Carrender, Luke Bristow and Rachel (Phillip) Gregory. Also three great grandchildren Ashtyn Lee, Jazlyn Upchurch and Keegan Gregory. Four sisters Elnoria Bertram,North East , PA, Della (Herbert) Patton, Shirley (Leroy) Mikel and Yvonne (Bobby) Criswell. Two brothers David (Lois) Carrender and K (Jeannie) Carrender of Somerset, KY. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Duke was a loving husband, father, grandfather as well as great grandfather and brother. He enjoyed time with his family; he loved fishing, playing cards with friends, an avid UK basketball fan, loved God, visiting with family and friends who included Pastor Jason Lange. He was a successful business man in many enterprises. The last one being Duke's Car Wash.

Donald "Duke" Carrender was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Stella (Crabtree) Carrender, one son Donald Scott Carrender, ten siblings Rex Carrender, Lee Carrender, Ray Carrender, Isabelle(Carrender) Morse, Porter Carrender, Priscilla Ann (Carrender) Davis, Howard Carrender, Randall Carrender, Bruce Milton Carrender, and Earshel (Carrender) Lowe.

The family of Donald (Duke) Carrender will receive friends Monday, July 28th from 3:00 till 7:00 with services starting at 7:00 PM at the funeral home of Hicks- Vaughn. Burial will take place at Elk Springs Cemetery.
