Della Lucille Patton was born March 25, 1933 and departed this life Wednesday, July 29, 2015 reaching the age of 82 years. She was the daughter of the late Bob and Stella (Crabtree) Carrender.

She married Herbert Patton and to this union 4 children were born.

She is survived by: her husband, Herbert Patton; 3 daughters, Nanna (Jerry) Sexton, Brenda Hicks, and Jill (Arthur) Flynn; 6 grandchildren, Kevin and Kyle Sexton, Chastity Dishman, Erica Guffey, Seth and Faith Flynn; and 8 great-grandchildren, Gracie, Stella, Miles, and Maria Sexton, Courtney and Molly Dishman, and MacKenzie and Phoenix Guffey. She is also survived by: two brothers, David (Lois) Carrender and Kay (Jeanie) Carrender; and three sisters, Elnoria Bertram, Shirley Artemis (Leroy) Mikel, and Yvonne (Bobby) Criswell; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Bob and Stella Carrender, she was preceded in death by: son, Ray Patton; son-in-law, Bill Hicks; brothers, Rex, Lee, Ray, Porter, Howard, Randall, and Bruce, and Donald "Duke" Carrender; sisters, Isabell Morse, Priscilla Ann Davis, and Earshel Lowe.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 31, 2015 after 5 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

The family has requested that in expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Alzheimer's Association.
