Delbert Wayne Gregory was born February 16, 1966 and departed this life Wednesday, July 14, 2021 reaching the age of 55 years. He was the son of the late Marlin and Carmen (Smith) Gregory.

He is survived by: his wife, Beth Gregory; one daughter, Latosha Gregory (Joshua Nichols); one sister, Joyce Ping (Tom Ping); his in-laws, Donna and Lymon Abbott, affectionately known as Nanna and Bum, who welcomed him into the family and loved him like a son; several nieces and nephews; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Marlin and Carmen Gregory, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Burnett.

For the past 20 years he worked in telephone construction for Roger Upchurch at R & L Contracting. He enjoyed his work and considered Roger to be a really good friend. For the past 14 years he worked with Brandon Upchurch, who he was proud to call a coworker and best friend.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 17, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
