David Preston was born April 26, 1943 and departed this life Sunday, March 1, 2015 reaching the age of 71 years. He was the son of the late Earnest "Bulldog" and Lilla Jane (Osborne) Preston.

He is survived by: his wife, Judy (McCarty) Preston; one brother, Clarence Preston (Sue); and two sisters, Alice Faye Little (Effert) and Kathy Preston; many nieces and nephews; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Earnest and Lilla Preston, he was preceded in death by: two sisters, Peggy Robinette and Virginia Sue Preston.

David has 12 years mining experience, working in both the National Mines and Spurlock Mines in Knott County, KY.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 after 6 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
