David Joe Davis, better known as DJ, was born March 7, 1962 and departed this life Sunday, September 12, 2021 reaching the age of 59 years. He was the son of the late Joe and Linda (Humble) Davis.

He is survived by: one daughter, Megan Thompson; one grandchild, Luna Jade Thompson; and two sisters, Stacy Dick and Trecia Gordon; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

DJ served his country and his community; he was a proud Army Veteran, a former Ferguson Police Chief, Monticello Police Officer, EMT and DEA Agent.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 2021 between 5 pm – 8 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Parmley's Grove Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by our local DAV Chapter 105.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the charity of your choice.
