David J. Denney was born December 26, 1947, and departed this life Thursday, June 17, 2021, reaching the age of 73 years. He was the son of the late Willie and Grace (Catron) Denney.

He married Jean Hill and to this union, 5 children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Jean Denney; 2 sons, Jeremy David (Rebecca) Denney and Joshua David (Kelly Christian) Denney; 3 daughters, Tammy (Byran) Carrender, Michelle (Todd Massengale) Branham, and Michelle Griffin; 3 brothers, James, Kenny, and Tim Denney; 1 sister, Jean Kempton; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourns his passing.

In addition to his parents, Willie and Grace Denney, he was preceded in death by brothers, Russell and Robert Denney; and sisters, Ina Sue Denney, Alice Meredith, and Georgia Hill.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, relative, and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, between 11 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
