David Carrender was born May 8, 1936 and departed this life Tuesday, July 27, 2021 reaching the age of 85 years. He was the son of the late Bob and Stella (Crabtree) Carrender.

He married Deloris "Lois" McWhorter and to this union two children were born.

He is survived by: his wife, Lois Carrender; one daughter, Joanna (Ronnie) Jones, one son, Jonathan (Lori) Carrender; six grandchildren, Trevor, Jacob (Sydney), and Matthew Jones, Joshua, Ethan, and Tyler Carrender; and one great grandchild, Abijah Grace Jones. He is also survived by: one brother, Kay (Jeannie) Carrender; and three sisters, Elnoria Bertram, Shirley (Leroy) Mikel, and Yvonne Criswell; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Bob and Stella Carrender, he was preceded in death by: seven brothers, Rex, Lee, Ray, Porter, Howard, Randall, Bruce Milton, Donald "Duke" Carrender; and four sisters, Della Patton, Isabelle Morse, Priscilla Ann Davis, and Earshel Lowe.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 30, 2021, between 10 am – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, July 30, 2021, at 2 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Southern Oaks Cemetery in Somerset, KY.
